The ever popular pizza is a quick and tasty meal for the whole family. Why not use the ‘One Rise’ Dough to make your own pizza bases?
Make the dough as normal, leave it an hour to rise and then take a handful, roll into a ball and then use a rolling pin to roll it out on a lightly floured surface. Take your time so as to give the dough time for a moment or two to rest as you roll it. A moment = about a minute! The dough will repay you for the rest by rolling out much more easily. A traditional thin base works best but a thicker base just needs a bit more time to cook. Don’t worry to make the perfect circle, any shape that fits on your baking tray is just as tasty!
Put the base on a lightly oiled baking tray.
Make a tomato topping from tomato paste mixed with some olive oil, hot water and mixed herbs (no wasting a whole tin of tomatoes or passata just make as much as you need.) Or better still get some real tomatoes a bit soft is fine. Squish them in a bowl, add a little olive oil and salt & pepper to taste and spread these on the flattened pizza dough before adding your cheese and any other toppings you wish.
Spread on the rolled out dough base and add the toppings you love; cheese (you’ll need cheeses that melt readily, mozzarella & cheddar works a treat and goats cheese is amazing.) Remember when it comes to toppings less is more – don’t overdo it now!
No need to leave it to rise any further just pop it in the oven. 10 minutes in a hot, hot, hot oven, slice and serve. Just great!
